How Direct Venting Works
Sealed Combustion, Direct Vent Technology

A sealed combustion, direct vent system draws air for combustion from outside the home into a sealed firebox. Exhaust is expelled through a separate vent. Room air is heated and recirculated. This system keeps warm air in and cold air out. This assures high air quality, maximum efficiency, and trouble-free operation in today's tight homes.
This type of system has no effect on indoor air quality. Since no room air is exchanged with combustion air, people with asthma, allergies or upper respiratory issues will certainly prefer this technology over the use of non vented appliances.
Because this technology vents the gases that are released during the combustion of gas (carbon, nitrogen and Hydrogen among others), it is better suited for full time home heating and can be used for hours on end.
